OverviewThe Greening Youth Foundation (GYF) is proud to partner with the National Park Service (NPS) through the Intern
XL Internship Program, offering impactful internship experiences for students and recent graduates from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). This initiative is part of our ongoing mission to build pathways for young Black professionals in public service and conservation careers.
Between May and August, the intern will play a key role in enhancing the visitor experience at the park. By delivering thorough, balanced, and accurate information they will help broaden the park’s interpretive and educational offerings to connect with a wider audience. Working alongside staff and park partners, the intern will contribute to innovative approaches for interpreting and sharing the Pullman story and our tie to recent Freedom 250 initiatives through the lens of the community.
Additionally, the intern will assist in developing new programs, creating engaging digital content, and producing other park-related materials designed to attract and involve new and younger visitors. Comprehensive training will prepare them to lead interpretive walks, host talks, generate digital content and develop one new interperative product—ensuring visitors of all ages experience meaningful and memorable interactions.
Eligibility Requirements- Must be a senior or recent graduate of an HBCU (within the past 2 years)
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must be able to commit to a 12-week, full-time internship

Located within a dynamic urban setting, our park anticipates a vibrant and energetic summer as we continue to celebrate both Freedom 250 and the 100th Anniversary of the BSCP. This internship provides a unique opportunity for hands‑on public engagement and the chance to help strengthen the park’s partnerships with non‑profit organizations.
