Salary Range$64,469.94 to $82,839.39
Responsibilities- Instructional planning, including written lesson plans and preparation in accordance with objectives of the instructional program, establishing positive learning expectations, evaluating pupils' progress, maintaining records.
- Implement instructional methods, applying contemporary principles of learning theory and teaching methodology, drawing from instructional materials, developing and implementing new teaching techniques, creating bulletin boards reflective of pupils’ current work.
- Knowledge of curriculum content, participate in programs to improve student attendance, promote anti‑vandalism, establish and maintain reasonable rules of conduct consistent with discipline code, maintain attendance records and seating charts.
- Encourage student growth, ensure fairness in teacher‑pupil relationships, initiate conferences with parents, guardians, administrators, communicate with parents or guardians about academic progress, attendance, conduct.
- Participate in in‑service meetings and professional staff meetings, may coordinate class field trips, work in extra‑curricular and after‑school activities, utilize community resources.
- Successful completion of all student teaching requirements and coursework to obtain appropriate teaching certificate(s).
- Valid teaching license:
Professional Educator License (PEL) or Educator License with Stipulations (ELS) endorsed for this position. - Knowledge of subject matter consistent with state certification requirements, contemporary teaching principles, and classroom and behavior management techniques.
- Ability to modify instruction to meet student needs, cooperate with faculty and administration, work effectively with pupils, parents, staff, and community representatives, understand physical, intellectual, social, emotional patterns of pupils.
- Skill in applying contemporary teaching principles, good oral and written communication skills, good interpersonal skills, exercising sound and professional judgment.
- Physical requirements:
light work, ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally, 10 pounds frequently, move objects, stoop occasionally, reach frequently, handle objects occasionally, speak and hear constantly, use near visual acuity, occasional visual acuity.
