Rowe Elementary/Middle School is a stand‑alone charter school with a K-4 campus and a 5-8 campus, located within walking distance of each other. Alongside a rigorous curriculum, our school focuses on the SEL component of education in great detail, as well.
We are seeking teachers who create a rigorous learning environment for our scholars, helping them develop as individuals and master the subjects they need to succeed. You will develop lesson plans and implement them in the classroom, tailoring lessons to scholar interests and strengths based on data, and build relationships with scholars to maintain a positive classroom culture where all scholars can learn and thrive.
Outside the classroom, you may assist with coaching sports, family and community events, organization events, school clubs, and extracurricular activities. Above all, our teachers develop scholars’ unique talents and foster a passion for learning and growth.
- Create daily lesson plans that are engaging, educational, and exciting for scholars.
- Teach scholars in a classroom setting, managing their work output and behavior on a daily basis.
- Deliver lesson plans that capture scholars’ attention and sustain excitement about learning.
- Reach school and course‑wide performance goals for every scholar.
- Increase educational knowledge and stay up to date on new methods by joining professional organizations, attending continuing education courses, and regular teacher training sessions.
- Weave goals, competencies, and objectives into lesson plans that directly apply to scholars’ lives.
- Develop teaching and learning materials for use in class, including lesson plans, exams, homework, projects, and assignments that utilize all scholar skills.
- Instruct scholars in one or more subjects using discussions, lectures, small group teaching, demonstrations, and other instructional tools to improve their grasp of the subject matter.
- Modify lesson plans and materials as needed to suit scholars’ current learning levels.
- Monitor and track scholar progress and issue grades.
- Maintain relationships with parents and legal guardians to keep them informed of scholars’ academic progress.
- Work collaboratively with other teachers and administrators, including special education teachers and teacher aides, to provide individualized support for each scholar on a regular basis.
- Collaborate with other teachers to share best practices and provide meaningful feedback regularly.
- Ensure that scholars meet educational standards and school performance goals for their grade level.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and staff to establish and uphold curriculum, school mission statement/culture, and performance goals.
- Offer praise and encouragement to scholars when they do well and when they are struggling, teaching them that they have the power to succeed in school.
- Watch closely for scholars struggling with emotional problems, learning disabilities, or home situations, and help them find necessary resources.
- Discipline scholars according to school policy and enforce campus rules such as the dress code and attendance policy.
- Uphold restorative practices and discipline procedures with other teachers and administrators.
- Utilize positive reinforcement and behavior modification to guide scholars in socially acceptable behavior, reducing incidents.
- Maintain relationships with parents and legal guardians to keep them informed of scholars’ social and emotional progress.
