Overview
DIABETES NURSE EDUCATOR
Position
Purpose:
The Nurse Educator is a professional nurse who provides consultation to nursing personnel and conducts and coordinates educational experiences. The responsibilities encompass assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of clinical skills development, in-services and continuing education programs at the Unit and/or Department level.
- Provide consultation to nursing personnel and coordinate educational experiences, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of skills development, in-services, and continuing education programs at the unit or department level.
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
- MSN or other related Master’s degree (or working toward degree).
- 3–5 years’ experience in nursing education.
- Experience in EPIC and MEDITECH software systems preferred.
- Current licensure in the State of Illinois as a Registered Nurse.
- CPR certification.
- Certification in specialty areas desirable.
