The Teacher is a qualified professional educator who meets the requirements to teach in a Catholic school in the Archdiocese of Chicago. As a teacher in a Catholic school, the Teacher acts as a representative of the Catholic Church to the students, both as a role model and through the various tasks, actions and other responsibilities assigned to the Teacher. The Teacher is a ministerial employee because of the Teacher’s role as both a representative of the Church and as a communicator of the Church’s message to the children entrusted to the Church’s care.
The Teacher is hired by and is directly accountable to the principal. The Teacher agrees to abide by the educational policies and procedures of the Archdiocese of Chicago and the Office of Catholic Schools as well as comply with the educational policies and procedures of the local school. The Teacher cooperates with the principal and staff in providing an educational environment that promotes the ministry of Catholic education.
The Teacher is a representative of the Archbishop of Chicago, effectuating his ministry of Catholic education and the religious teachings and doctrine of the Catholic Church at the level of the local school. This position is for the 2026 - 2027 school year.
St. Robert Bellarmine is a Pre‑K to Eighth Catholic elementary school in the Jefferson Park neighborhood, on the northside of Chicago. We have a well‑maintained, secure school campus located only minutes from both the Blue Line and the Kennedy Expressway. This makes our school an ideal location for teaching candidates who live in the city or the suburbs. We have a wonderful school community filled with fantastic students, supportive school parents, and an amazing, dedicated, and caring school staff.

We are currently seeking a teacher to join our team. Applicants must have a passion for education and must love working with children. They should be energetic, reliable, and professional, and able to work in a collaborative and caring environment. They must also show initiative, have well‑developed interpersonal skills, and be interested in learning to improve and grow as a teacher.
We are a Catholic school, and although being Catholic is not a prerequisite for a teaching position, whoever is hired must be respectful of our faith and of all people, regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, gender, or economic status. Working Conditions:
A dedicated classroom that is not shared with any other teachers. A classroom equipped with an interactive smart board. A dedicated set of the latest generation iPads in every classroom. (SRB is a 1‑to‑1 school!) A dedicated laptop (Mac Book or PC) to use throughout the school year. All staff members also have the option to supplement their income by facilitating school activities, such as clubs, sports, and after‑school tutoring.
