FCE Student Assistant - Summer Student Employment

Summary

The Office of Family and Community Engagement at Saint Xavier University is seeking a motivated and creative student to assist with various initiatives aimed at enhancing communication on and engagement with SXU students, staff, faculty and families . This is a great opportunity for a student looking to gain hands-on experience in event coordination, execution, and management.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

* Create marketing and outreach materials to engage and retain parent and family volunteers.

* Provide event planning and operational support for family- and student-facing programs, including timelines, logistics, and day-of execution.

* Coordinate cross-functional collaboration with campus partners to deliver programs successfully.

* Manage participant communications, including invitations, reminders, follow-ups, and general inquiries.

* Support registration processes and participant tracking where applicable.

* Create engaging content that highlights the office 's work, outcomes, and opportunities for engagement.

* Update and maintain the office 's web pages and internal portals to keep information accurate, current, and accessible.

Qualifications

MUST BE A STUDENT AT SAINT XAVIER UNIVERSITY

Must be Federal Work Study Eligible

Must Include a Resume and Cover Letter

* Knowledge/experience with promotions, communications, event management or similar (internships, volunteer work, work, or coursework).

SKILLS

* Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication abilities to interact effectively with parents, staff, and students.

* Ability to create engaging content for various platforms.

* Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

* Strong attention to detail for coordinating events and content.

* Skills in graphic design or content creation (e.g., Canva) are a plus.

* Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with online collaboration tools (or willingness to learn).

* Ability to build relationships and work effectively in a team environment.

* Strong ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines, especially in a fast-paced environment
