Job Description
The Teacher Assistant is an individual who works with students requiring instructional, and/or behavioral assistance under the supervision of the Early Childhood Education department, teacher and/or supervising designee. The Teacher Assistant may also provide support services to assist students with personal, physical mobility and therapeutic care needs, as established by a rehabilitation health practitioner, social worker or other health care professional.
Minimum Requirements- Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Child Development (CD), OR sixty (60) college semester hours with a minimum of 15 semester hours of credit in ECE or CD or Unrelated degree with a current Preschool CDA.
- Gateways Level 4 ECE Credential for Infant & Toddler or Early Head Start is required upon hire.
- Comply with all relevant professional standards of practice.
- Current CPR if applicable.
- TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable.
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
