Support Services Teacher - Junior High

Mahomet-Seymour Junior High is currently hiring for a Support Services Teacher to provide targeted instructional and behavioral supports to students requiring additional academic, social-emotional, and/or behavioral interventions. This position collaborates with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to implement evidence-based interventions that promote student achievement and well‑being. This is a full‑time position that will begin with the 2026‑2027 school year.

Position Type: Licensed Special Education

• Provide individualized and small‑group instruction aligned with IEP goals and objectives.
• Implement and monitor behavioral intervention plans.
• Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and problem‑solving teams to support student needs.
• Monitor progress on IEP goals and objectives.
• Communicate student progress with staff and parents/guardians.
• Ensure accurate record‑keeping and documentation.
• Maintain high ethical standards and protect the confidentiality of student information.

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS‑1 certification is required.
• Applicants must be willing to be trained in crisis prevention and able to pass a physical ability test.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with staff, students, and families.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Our existing 4‑year collective bargaining agreement will expire at the end of the 2025‑2026 school year and we will be negotiating a new agreement that will begin with the 2026‑2027 school year.
