Mahomet-Seymour Junior High is currently hiring for a Support Services Teacher to provide targeted instructional and behavioral supports to students requiring additional academic, social-emotional, and/or behavioral interventions. This position collaborates with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to implement evidence-based interventions that promote student achievement and well‑being. This is a full‑time position that will begin with the 2026‑2027 school year.
Position Type: Licensed Special Education
Essential Functions- Provide individualized and small‑group instruction aligned with IEP goals and objectives.
- Implement and monitor behavioral intervention plans.
- Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and problem‑solving teams to support student needs.
- Monitor progress on IEP goals and objectives.
- Communicate student progress with staff and parents/guardians.
- Ensure accurate record‑keeping and documentation.
- Maintain high ethical standards and protect the confidentiality of student information.
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS‑1 certification is required.
- Applicants must be willing to be trained in crisis prevention and able to pass a physical ability test.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with staff, students, and families.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.

Our existing 4‑year collective bargaining agreement will expire at the end of the 2025‑2026 school year and we will be negotiating a new agreement that will begin with the 2026‑2027 school year.
