Position Summary
Founded in 1979, The Chicago School is an independent professional graduate school with a dynamic student body and a professionally accomplished faculty. Our curriculum and training opportunities prepare graduates to deliver outstanding professional services emphasizing the ability to understand and work with diverse populations. The Bachelor of Psychology Program at The Chicago School is seeking several highly qualified adjunct instructors to join our diverse faculty at our on‑ground Chicago campus in our undergraduate department.
We offer a wide range of standard APA‑advised undergraduate coursework, including courses in Abnormal Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Ethics, and Neuropsychology, among a number of others. Courses run 15 weeks during the Spring and Fall semesters, and 8 weeks during the Summer semester. Courses are taught in two modalities: in‑person at the Chicago campus (Mondays through Thursdays, morning, early afternoon, or evening each week) and executive‑style blended – meeting one day (Saturday or Sunday) per month with online assignments and brief remote meetings in between.
Duties
- Engage students in undergraduate curriculum through discussion and assignments as outlined in the course syllabi.
- Provide students substantive feedback and respond to student questions and concerns in a timely manner.
- Maintain communication with department administration, faculty, and students.
- Mentor students in career planning and navigating support services, and work with department chair and Bachelor program team in ongoing student success initiatives.
- Master’s degree required.
- Enrollment in TCS (Chicago campus) doctoral program preferred.
- Experience as a teaching assistant.
- Strong commitment to academic excellence, research, community service, and diversity.
