Starting Pay Range: $2,653.85 - $3,153.85 Bi-Weekly, depending on experience.

Pathways In Education (PIE) is an Alternative Learning Opportunities Program (ALOP) serving grades 9‑12 in the Chicago community. PIE provides small group classes, guided independent study, online courses, and experiential learning to meet each student’s individual strengths and needs. We seek educators who are warm, outgoing, authentic, passionate, and inspiring, with a strong emphasis on the student–teacher relationship.

• Deliver our educational program, ensuring data‑driven, results‑based instruction aligned with Common Core Standards.
• Provide direct instruction to students for 6 hours per day.
• Develop lesson plans and differentiated curriculum to promote student success.
• Teach for mastery of Common Core Standards and maintain expertise in a single‑subject content area.
• Use assessments and data to shape instruction and improve outcomes.
• Maintain grade, attendance, and retention records.
• Provide targeted interventions for special education students and English Language Learners.
• Participate in community groups, faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops.
• Meet with students and parents to discuss progress and challenges.
• Engage in student organizations or committees.
• Assist with state‑mandated student testing.

• BA/BS degree.
• Teaching credential in Indiana.
• Experience in a core subject (grades 9‑12) or demonstrated subject knowledge.
