Our client is dedicated to serving high-risk students, including those with a history of chronic truancy or who have previously dropped out of Chicago Public Schools. Our Special Education population primarily includes students with mild to moderate disabilities who benefit from individualized support, structure, and relationship-centered instruction.
About the RoleWe are seeking compassionate, resilient, and student-focused educators who are committed to making a difference in the lives of underserved youth. Ideal candidates understand the impact of poverty, homelessness, academic gaps, and family instability on student success and are willing to go beyond traditional teaching approaches to re-engage and support students both academically and emotionally.
Responsibilities- Provide individualized support and instruction to students.
- Implement relationship-centered teaching strategies.
- Assist students in overcoming barriers to success.
- Rebuild student confidence and promote long-term achievement.
- IL TEACHING CERTIFICATE AND PEL W/ LBS1 ENDORSEMENT FOR HIGH SCHOOL REQUIRED!
- Compassionate and resilient approach to education.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student needs.
- Strong understanding of the challenges faced by underserved youth.
- Experience working with high-risk student populations.
- Knowledge of individualized education plans (IEPs).
