Position Summary
Prairie State College is seeking an energetic instructor to teach introductory Macroeconomics and Microeconomics at our Chicago Heights, IL campus in Fall 2026. These classes are on-campus during daytime hours. Please indicate your availability in your cover letter.
Candidates will be responsible for effectively preparing, teaching, grading, and assessing student learning and collaborating with the Dean and other colleagues to improve the student learning experience. Candidates should also be highly competent in a variety of technology-based programs related to student instruction and be comfortable with teaching in the online setting.

Minimum Qualifications- Master’s Degree in Economics or related field, or Master’s Degree with 18 hours in Economics.
- Commitment to the mission of the community college
- Experience teaching at the community college level is strongly preferred.
- Experience teaching online or online teaching credentials is strongly preferred.
- Experienced user of LMS such as Desire2

SalaryAdjunct faculty members at PSC are paid by the number of hours they are in the classroom (contact hours). Pay Schedule for new adjunct faculty: $972.38 per credit hour.
