The Goddard School in Chicago's South Loop (60616) is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated teachers to join our growing team. We are hiring for multiple daycare teaching positions at our expanding preschool, serving children from 6 weeks to 6 years old. Our modern, state-of-the‑art facility is conveniently located in downtown Chicago's South Loop neighborhood, just minutes from CTA and Metra Electric transit options, providing an accessible and supportive environment for both educators and families.
OverviewA Lead Toddler Preschool Teacher is responsible for establishing and maintaining a safe, healthy and nurturing learning environment. Additionally, a teacher is responsible to work together with another teacher and in conjunction with the entire faculty.
Educational Qualifications- An Associate degree or higher in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Elementary Education, Child Development or a related field.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Elementary Education, Child Development or a related field is preferred.
- Child Development Associate (CDA) Certification.
- Developing lesson plans.
- Meeting the individual needs of the children.
- Parent communication.
- Participation in staff and training meetings.
- Designing an appropriate room arrangement to support the goals and developmental level of the children in the classroom.
- Interacting with the children to support play, exploration, and learning.
- Presenting expectations that are appropriate to the child's age and developmental level.
- Planning and implementing activities that develop self-esteem and social skills.
- Communicating appropriately and professionally with parents and fellow staff.
- Building teamwork.
- Using assessment tools.
- Committing to continuing education.
Teachers are responsible for compliance with Goddard's industry‑leading Quality Assurance standards. Preschool Teachers write and implement their own lesson plans based on Goddard Developmental Guidelines and monthly school themes. Most importantly, they create a positive learning environment in their classroom where children develop a lifelong love of learning.
