The position is responsible for ensuring students and managers understand DePaul’s career‑readiness framework within a student employment context, developing new initiatives and educational resources for both students and managers to promote career readiness as outlined by DePaul’s strategic plan and the Career Center’s strategic priorities.

It includes ongoing analysis of university‑wide training needs, design and facilitation of high‑impact interventions including online learning modules, blended learning, instructor‑led training, and manager resources, and collaboration with University stakeholders. The role is cross‑trained to support essential functions of Student Employment such as hiring paperwork, ICP approvals, termination requests, job approvals, and maintaining the Campus Job Board.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee management of the student employment learning and development program including the Professional Development Series, Peer Trainer Program, and Iowa GROW initiative.
  • Coordinate and facilitate educational initiatives for student employees and managers, providing training and asynchronous modules, and delivering supervisor training on best practices for recruiting, hiring and developing student employees.
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify learning opportunities, maintain an up‑to‑date resource library for student employees and managers, and conduct program evaluation and assessment to measure impact and effectiveness.
  • Cultivate relationships with campus partners and managers, consult with university leaders, and design, develop, revise and maintain online and blended courses aligned with workplace skill development.
  • Oversee the workflow process for the student employment learning management system, create course modules and training materials, map the career curriculum across the university, and assist with HR processes such as hiring paperwork, ICPs, terminations, job approvals, and the job platform.
  • Supervise the graduate student project coordinator and undergraduate office assistant, with the potential to expand the student employment team as the program scales.

  • Familiarity with software and platforms including Canva, Qualtrics, People Soft, D2L, Canvas, Adobe Captivate, Articulate, and Career Management Systems such as Handshake.
