JOB OVERVIEW
School Greeter/AM Care Resource is responsible for interacting with parents and students as they arrive at the school, providing a welcoming and an exceptional and friendly environment for everyone. Answer basic questions and direct them to the appropriate classroom. The person in this position is often the first person students and family members meet in the morning and they should be a representation of Holy Family Ministries’ mission and values.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide active supervision of children during before-care and aftercare to ensure a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment.
Plan, prepare, and facilitate developmentally appropriate aftercare activities that support children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
Create weekly activity plans that include indoor and outdoor play, creative arts, literacy, STEM, and enrichment experiences.
Prepare materials and learning spaces needed for daily extended care activities and experiences.
Welcome children and families during arrival and support smooth transitions into and out of the program.
Maintain accurate attendance records and follow all student sign-in and sign-out procedures.
Support children in developing positive social skills, independence, and self-regulation through consistent routines and expectations.
Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children through active supervision and adherence to school policies and procedures.
Assist with snack service, restroom routines, and other daily care needs as appropriate.
Communicate professionally with families, classroom staff, and administration regarding student needs and program activities.
Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting environment for children and families participating in extended care.
Participate in required training, meetings, and professional development while performing other duties as assigned to support the success of the Extended Care Program.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED required.
Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with young children in a preschool, childcare, school-age, or extended care setting preferred.
Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices for children ages 3–5.
Ability to plan and implement engaging activities that promote learning, creativity, and social-emotional development.
Strong classroom management and positive behavior support skills.
Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with children, families, and staff.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
