MTSS Coordinator
The MTSS Coordinator is a key member of the student support team responsible for implementing, monitoring, and refining academic and behavioral interventions across both Rowe campuses. This role is central to ensuring that all students receive timely and effective Tier 2 and Tier 3 support within a data-informed and equity-focused framework.
Key Responsibilities- Intervention Systems Leadership
- Lead and coordinate MTSS implementation at both RLS (K4) and RUS (58) campuses.
- Collaborate with teachers, interventionists, and administrators to design and refine intervention systems for academics and behavior.
- Manage school wide MTSS schedules, ensuring efficient use of staff and resources.
- Data Analysis & Progress Monitoring
- Lead school wide data cycles aligned to benchmark and progress monitoring assessments (e.g., Star
360, classroom-based diagnostics, etc.). - Analyze academic and behavioral data to identify students in need of support and track intervention effectiveness.
- Facilitate data meetings with grade-level teams, coaches, and service providers to adjust interventions as needed.
- Student Support & Case Management
- Maintain and monitor MTSS documentation for all students receiving Tier 2 and Tier 3 supports.
- Support teachers in implementing evidence-based interventions and using progress monitoring tools.
- Collaborate with school psychologists, counselors, and special education staff to ensure seamless transitions between MTSS and special education services when appropriate.
- Professional Development & Coaching
- Provide ongoing training and support to teachers and staff on the MTSS process, intervention strategies, and progress monitoring tools.
- Support staff in understanding root causes of academic or behavioral difficulties through data analysis and structured problem-solving.
- Collaboration & Communication
- Serve as the liaison between RLS and RUS to ensure MTSS consistency and alignment across both buildings.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with families regarding student progress and supports.
- Prepare reports and updates for school leadership and external stakeholders as needed.
Required:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
- Minimum 3 years of successful teaching or interventionist experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of MTSS frameworks, including academic and behavioral interventions
- Strong data analysis and facilitation skills
- Ability to work effectively across two campuses and with multiple stakeholders
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred:
- Experience with data platforms (e.g., Branching Minds, etc.)
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
- Experience in an urban, diverse, and inclusive school setting
Chicago residency NOT required.
Position Type:
Full-time, exempt position Compensation:
