Part-Time Aide

Location: South Side – 4214 South Saint Lawrence Avenue (James Farmer Jr. Elem)

Overview: The Part‑Time Aide position supports student supervision during non‑instructional activities before, during, and/or after the school day. Aides may work up to 3.75 hours per day.

• Supervise students during lunch and/or recess periods
• Supervise students during study halls (non‑instructional minutes)
• Supervise students during in‑school suspensions
• Assist with supervision in and around the school building

Note: Aides may not assume duties of other defined school‑based positions such as teacher’s assistants, instructional assistants, special education classroom assistants, children’s welfare attendants, security guards, clerks, etc.

• High school degree or GED equivalent (required)
• One year of experience in the supervision of children in an organized setting (preferred)
• Ability to work with and for school children
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions
• Ability to learn and follow school and district policies, procedures, and expectations

Hourly Rate: $14.66 per hour effective July 1, 2013. Schools must fund this position from discretionary funds and pay Medicaid/Medicare and FICA costs; no additional benefits.
