Lead Infant Teacher

The Goddard School located in Chicago (South Loop), IL 60616 is looking for motivated self-starters for multiple positions as Daycare Teachers at our new preschool for ages ranging from 6 weeks to 6 years. Our state of the art facility is expanding in the South Loop neighbourhood of Chicago downtown, just blocks away from CTA and Metra Electric.

Overview

A Lead Infant Teacher is responsible for establishing and maintaining a safe, healthy and nurturing learning environment. Additionally a teacher is responsible to work together with another teacher and in conjunction with the entire faculty.

Educational Qualifications
  • An Associate degree or higher in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Elementary Education, Child Development or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Elementary Education, Child Development or a related field is preferred.
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) Certification.
Lead Infant Teacher Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain a safe, healthy and nurturing learning environment
  • Develop an appropriate classroom management system to support the goals and developmental level of the children in the classroom
  • Ensure that children are always within state ratio requirements
  • Perform cleaning responsibilities (e.g., spills) immediately
  • Advance children's physical and intellectual competence
  • Adapt program to meet the individual needs of each child
  • Create a multi-cultural learning environment
  • Provide a variety of developmentally appropriate activities to engage children in learning
  • Respect cultural and ethnic diversity
  • Communicate, in a professional manner, with families and faculty
  • Encourage families to become an integral part of their children's learning experiences
  • Maintain a portfolio for each child
  • Maintain the classroom Parent Board
  • Perform child observations and document in their portfolios, Use assessment tools (e.g., Progress Reports, Children's Progress)
  • Attend faculty meetings, in-service days, conferences and professional growth opportunities

Child care

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • After school
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • No weekends

Must be Fully Co-VID Vaccinated. Compensation: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
