Federal Work Study Program
Kennedy-King College, part of the City Colleges of Chicago (CCC), offers a Federal Work Study Program for the 2026–2027 academic year. CCC is the largest community college system in Illinois, providing quality, affordable education to over 70,000 students annually.
The Federal Work Study Program provides part-time employment to eligible students to help meet educational and living expenses. Students work in on-campus departments or at approved off-campus community service sites, receiving hourly wages that can help reduce out-of-pocket educational costs.

Federal Work Study students are coordinated through the Office of Student Financial Aid at Kennedy-King College. Day-to-day supervision is provided by the department where the student is placed.
Kennedy-King College is seeking motivated, dependable, and service-oriented students to join the KKC team as Federal Work Study Students. Students will support their assigned department through a variety of office and program support tasks, including:
- Greeting and assisting students, faculty, staff, or guests
- Answering phones and routing calls
- Assisting with filing, organizing, data entry, or special projects
- Helping promote department events and services
- Providing excellent customer service to all members of the college community
Job Type: Part-Time
Hours:
Up to 29 hours per week (based on eligibility and department needs)
Location:
On-campus and select off-campus community partner sites
Eligibility Requirements:
- Be at least 16 years old and eligible to work in the U.S. (work permit required if under 18)
- Have a completed FAFSA for the 2025–2026 academic year
- Be enrolled at City Colleges of Chicago – Kennedy-King College in at least 6 credit hours
- Be pursuing an eligible degree or certificate program
- Be meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
- Be in good academic standing with CCC (no active academic restrictions)
- Not be currently employed as a Student Worker, full- or part-time employee at CCC
Salary Range: $17.00 (on-campus) or $19.00 (off-campus) per hour. Offered rate will be determined based on whether assigned location is on campus or off campus.
