2nd Grade Classroom Teacher - Spanish​/English Bilingual - St. Procopius - Chicago

Position Details

St. Procopius Elementary School – Chicago, a dual‑language (English/Spanish) elementary school. This position is for the 2026‑2027 school year. Spanish fluency is required.

• Teach and act in accordance with Catholic doctrinal and moral teachings.
• Act as a role model for religious formation and represent the Archbishop of Chicago and the Catholic Church.
• Teach and act consistently in accordance with the Catholic school's mission, philosophy, objectives, policies and procedures.
• Complete Catholic identity formation training and any required professional development.
• Lead or participate in religious instruction, ceremonies, rituals or other activities as directed by the principal.
• Communicate regularly with students, parents/guardians, colleagues and the principal.
• Participate in required professional development programs.
• Perform teaching duties as assigned by the principal.
• Attend faculty and staff meetings.
• Cooperate with the principal and staff in school‑related meetings, activities and projects.
• Maintain accurate student attendance and academic records.
• Maintain a safe, orderly, secure learning and working environment.
• Participate in the annual performance review.
• Maintain confidentiality and discretion regarding school personnel, students and general school matters.
• Represent the school/parish at all school/parish events and within the general public.
• Perform any specific tasks assigned by the principal.

• Practicing Catholic (preferred, required for religion teachers).
• Compliance with safe environment requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Valid state licensure for the grade/subject area (preferred, not required).
• Completion of Catholic identity formation training.

Lay employee: $38,527 – $68,776. Religious employee: $35,686 – $62,316. Salary within the range depends on education, qualifications, experience, location and organizational needs.
