What You'll Do

As a Full‑Time Veterinary Assisting Instructor, you'll create engaging learning experiences that prepare students for careers in veterinary technology and animal science.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning, developing, and delivering organized learning opportunities aligned with approved curriculum.
  • Providing hands‑on instruction in animal science, veterinary assisting, clinical procedures, animal health, and industry best practices.
  • Creating and maintaining a safe, engaging, and student‑centered learning environment.
  • Assessing student learning through practical evaluations, assignments, and examinations.
  • Monitoring student attendance, progress, and achievement.
  • Maintaining accurate student records and supporting academic advising efforts.
  • Collaborating with faculty and staff to promote student success and program excellence.
  • Implementing innovative teaching strategies that enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
  • Modeling professionalism, ethical conduct, and industry best practices.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with industry partners to ensure curriculum remains aligned with workforce needs.
  • Ensuring the safe and effective use of instructional facilities, equipment, and animals.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and program development efforts.
What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is a knowledgeable animal sciences professional who is passionate about education, animal health, and student success.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and one year of experience in Animal Sciences, Veterinary Technology, Veterinary Assisting, or a related field;
    or
  • Technical college certificate and one year of industry experience;
    or
  • High school diploma and four or more years of relevant industry experience.
  • Proof of licensure and/or professional certification as required by industry standards.
  • Experience as a Veterinary Technician, Veterinary Assistant, or professional working in an animal sciences‑related field.
  • Strong knowledge of animal care, veterinary procedures, safety practices, and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively teach both technical concepts and hands‑on skills.
  • Ability to work onsite and actively participate in classroom, laboratory, and clinical learning activities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous teaching, training, mentoring, or supervisory experience.
  • Strong organizational and classroom management skills.
  • Experience developing curriculum or instructional materials.
  • Ability to engage and motivate students with diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
