Early Head Start Teachers and Teacher Assistants Needed

Age Group:
Birth to 5 Years

Early Head Start Teachers and Teacher Assistants will work under the direction of the Program Director and/or Lead Teacher to provide a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in setting up and maintaining indoor and outdoor learning environments.
  • Use developmentally appropriate practices to facilitate activities for both groups and individual children.
  • Observe and document children's behaviors to support the identification of each child's strengths and areas for growth.
  • Participate in monthly staff meetings and child staffing discussions as appropriate.
  • Develop and implement daily lesson plans that incorporate program requirements, family and cultural influences, and promote children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
  • Maintain a consistent daily schedule that meets individual needs, including:
    • Small and large group activities
    • Choice time
    • Music and movement
    • Fine and gross motor activities
    • Skill-building experiences
    • Meals and snacks
    • Smooth transitions between activities
  • Encourage exploration, experimentation, problem-solving, cooperation, socialization, and independent decision-making.
  • Foster an environment that promotes and supports parent involvement in the classroom.
  • Collaborate with special needs staff to support children with Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs) and ensure inclusive classroom practices.
  • Sanitize classroom equipment, toys, and materials, and assist with classroom laundry as needed.
  • Assist with meal preparation and service as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Child Development
  • Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Child Development
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential
