Special Education Case ManagerFull Time Chicago, IL, US
Salary Range: $80,000.00 To $90,000.00 Annually

We’re looking for a thoughtful and organized Case Manager to support special education programs across our school partners. You’ll guide IEP and 504 processes, ensure compliance with federal and state requirements, supervise special education staff, and collaborate closely with teachers, families, and administrators. Your work helps students receive the services and support they need to be successful.
What You’ll Do- Coordinate IEP and 504 meetings, maintain timelines, and ensure full compliance with state and local guidelines
- Create, maintain, and audit records and documentation to meet legal and administrative requirements
- Assess and monitor student needs and help design individualized instructional methods and supports
- Oversee special education services and ensure they are delivered as outlined in the IEP
- Collaborate with the District Discipline Team to ensure fair and appropriate interventions for students with behavior concerns
- Address problems or emergencies through investigation, data review, and action planning
- Support the Testing Coordinator by ensuring students have proper documentation for accommodations
- Supervise and support special education teachers and paraprofessionals including scheduling, onboarding, coaching, and performance improvement when needed
- Ensure staff understand and follow FERPA and other state or federal requirements
- Build strong relationships with teachers, administrators, families, and outside agencies to support student needs
- Lead departmental meetings and participate in committees, trainings, and school-based initiatives
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Master’s degree in special education, curriculum and instruction, or a related field (degree may be in progress)
- Illinois PEL with LBS1 endorsement
- Relevant certification such as Supervisor, Administrator, or Director of Special Education (may be in progress)
- At least three years of special education experience
- Strong understanding of special education requirements in K-12 settings
- Excellent communication skills with careful attention to detail
- Ability to build strong, collaborative relationships and provide clear guidance to staff
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Strong problem solving skills, logical thinking, and comfort working with data
- Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple priorities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other web-based tools
