Richard J. Daley College is located on the southwest side of Chicago. The Department is currently seeking a Philosophy Adjunct Faculty to begin Fall Semester 2026.
Please note:
This position may require fully teaching in-person, as hybrid schedules are not guaranteed.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Demonstrate excellence in teaching, commitment to integrating new technologies in the learning process and the ability to inspire, motivate and empower students to succeed.
- Maintain office hours for advising, mentoring and coaching students.
- Development and revision of courses and instructional materials as necessary.
- Post syllabi and grades on Blackboard.
Qualifications
At minimum, you must have a MA in Philosophy. In addition to the minimum requirements, you must be focused on effective teaching; assessment of student learning; and continuous growth in the field of study. We also value expertise in student-centered teaching; facility with instructional technology, including Blackboard Learning Management System; and a commitment to professional development in teaching.
The salary range is the following per contact hour based on education:
Master's - $800, Master's +30 - $837, Doctorate/Terminal (including MFA) -$943. Offered salary will be determined by the respective collective bargaining agreement and applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities.
