Overview

Part‑time Culinary Arts Instructor for After School Matters spring session.

Schedule:

~7.5 hours per week for 10 weeks (January 13, 2026 – May 16, 2026). Responsible for leading culinary arts programs such as Foundational Skills, Cooking and Baking, Cake Decorating.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
  • Plan and facilitate a 75‑hour curriculum, including field trips and guest speakers.
  • Create clear structure and support for teens (agenda setting, group norms, adherence to ASM supportive behavior management plan, incident reporting).
  • Guide teens through planning and implementation of an end‑of‑session demonstration of learning (showcase).
  • Administrative tasks: conduct teen interviews, select teens, complete data entry (interview outcomes, daily attendance, teen checklist support, program reports, teen survey administration).
  • Prepare program budgets per ASM guidelines.
  • Ensure all workstations are sanitized before and after use; monitor proper food safety practices.
  • Supervise teens at an average 15:1 teens‑to‑instructor ratio.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Practical knowledge of culinary arts content.
  • Classroom management experience (preferred).
  • Effective communication with teens, parents, ASM staff, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Intermediate computer skills; proficient in Google Suite.
  • Cultural competence.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant content area preferred; high school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience in a field relevant to culinary arts preferred.
  • Experience teaching teens preferred.
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusion required.
Program Schedule

Programs meet for approximately 7.5 hours per week, typically 3 days a week for 2.5 hours per day. Preferred schedule:
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday between 3 pm – 7 pm, subject to location availability. Spring programs run February 26, 2026 – May 9, 2026 (10 weeks).

Compensation

$20–$27 per hour, depending on experience and education.
