Summary of Position
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Mosaic Arts Instructor to lead engaging classes for teens of varying skill levels. The ideal candidate has a strong background in mosaic techniques, a love for teaching, and the ability to create a supportive and inspiring learning environment.
This is a part-time position scheduled for approximately 16-20 hours per week for 7 weeks.
Major Duties and Responsibilities- Plan and facilitate a 120‑hour curriculum, including field trips and guest speakers
- Create clear structure and support for teens, including agenda setting, creating group norms, and abiding by ASM’s supportive behavior management plan and incident reporting procedures
- Lead the teens through the planning and implementation of an end‑of‑session demonstration of learning (showcase)
- Conduct teen interviews and select teens by the roster deadline; complete data entry including interview outcomes, daily attendance, teen checklist support, program reports, teen survey administration
- Prepare program budgets in accordance with ASM guidelines
- Plan and teach mosaic art classes for beginners to advanced students
- Demonstrate techniques such as tile cutting, adhesive application, grouting, and design composition
- Supervise teens at an average ratio of 15:1 (teens : instructor)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Demonstrated practical knowledge of content area
- Classroom management experience, preferred
- Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of stakeholders including teens, participants, parents, ASM program staff, vendors, etc.
- Intermediate computer skills, working in Google Suite
- Cultural competence
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant content area is preferred; high school diploma or GED required
- Experience working in a field relevant to the content area is highly preferred
- Experience teaching, specifically teens, is highly preferred
- Commitment to diversity and inclusion is required
- Programs meet for 16‑20 hours per week, typically 4‑5 days a week for 4 hours each; each daily session runs 4 hours, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
- Summer programs begin in April; program sessions start June 22, 2026, and run until August 7, 2026.
$20‑27 per hour, depending on applicable experience and education.
