School Counselor

Salary Range: $64,469.94 to $82,839.39.

• Create, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive school counseling program aligned with the CPS REACH Framework.
• Conduct annual needs assessments and data reviews to determine and prioritize student needs.
• Implement the School Counseling Core Curriculum, designing and co‑teaching learning activities in classroom, large group, and school‑wide settings.
• Provide individual student planning activities, including facilitation of the Individual Learning Plan in Naviance, transition activities, and advisement.
• Provide responsive services for students’ academic barriers, such as small groups, short‑term counseling sessions, and school‑wide support during crisis or emergency situations.
• Provide indirect student support through referrals to district and community resources, sharing strategies, serving as student advocate, and collaborating with community partners.
• Provide system support by coordinating activities that contribute to effective school operation, creating an evidence‑based implementation plan, and coordinating professional development for staff.
• Participate in regular professional development, including district, state, and national conferences and continuing education coursework.

• Master’s degree in School Counseling.
• Current ISBE Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Counseling Endorsement.
• Experience in comprehensive student support within academic, personal/social, and career domains.
• Ability to design and implement data‑driven counseling programs.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with students, staff, families, and community partners.
• Knowledge of American School Counselor Association National Model and CPS REACH Framework.
