The Department of Teacher Education, Kinesiology, and Educational Studies (DTEKES) in the College of Education invites expressions of interest for part‑time faculty teaching opportunities in Elementary Education for the Academic Year. Positions are available throughout the academic year, including summer sessions. Applicants with expertise that matches course scheduling needs will be contacted for an interview. Academic course schedules fluctuate from quarter to quarter and selected individuals will work with department faculty to determine a quarterly schedule.
Courses are not guaranteed; however the Department does its best to give ample notice about available courses and potential course cancellations.
- General Elementary Curriculum and Instruction
- Elementary Math Curriculum and Instruction
- Elementary Science Curriculum and Instruction
- Elementary Social Studies Curriculum and Instruction
- Elementary Assessment
- Elementary Literacy Curriculum and Instruction
- Elementary Arts Curriculum and Instruction (visual arts, music, drama, dance)
- At least a master’s degree in the elementary education field. Some courses may require a doctoral degree.
- Demonstrated experience working and teaching with children and adults working with elementary‑age children (grades K-6).
- Minimum of five years of licensed teaching experience in any grades K-6 for Elementary Education Program methods courses.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion; ability to support students from many perspectives and cultures.

Compensation & BenefitsThe anticipated hourly rate is between $3,765 and $4,555 per course, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Academic CalendarExcept for the College of Law, DePaul University operates on a quarter system. Classes in Autumn, Winter, and Spring quarters are 11 weeks in length (including finals week) and Summer courses, in two sessions, are typically 5 weeks in length. The College of Law operates on a semester system. Classes in the Fall and Spring semesters are 16 weeks in length (including finals week) and it offers a Summer Session of 7 weeks (including final exams).
