THE ROLE
Your role stands at the intersection of early childhood curriculum, the fight for outcomes that enrich the lives of children and their families, and the effort to make positive change in education in the U.S. As a key member of Stand’s Great First Eight Curriculum Implementation Support Team at a moment of tremendous need and opportunity, you will be responsible for providing implementation support for Pre‑K classrooms.

This is a fixed‑term position from August 2026 through June 2027. However, there is a high likelihood of future implementation support opportunities within or outside of the Chicago, Illinois area.

- Develop deep knowledge of the Great First Eight Curriculum and tools to support implementation of the curriculum.
- Learn to use Great First Eight software tools that support the curriculum.
- Develop familiarity with Chicago Public Schools (CPS)/Office of Early Childhood Education (OECE) guidance and protocols.
- Work with assigned implementation sites:
- Build and maintain relationships with implementation site personnel, including district leaders, school leaders, school coaches, and classroom teachers.
- Schedule, prepare for, travel to and from, and enact in‑person visits (including walkthroughs and classroom observations) to implementation sites following Great First Eight & CPS protocols.
- Compose post‑visit summaries for sites.
- Engage in coaching cycles with site personnel.
- Carry out check‑in meetings with implementation sites at assigned cadence using Great First Eight & CPS protocols.
- Communicate at other times as needed to support implementation success in implementation sites.
- Keep detailed notes and a record of interactions with each site.
- Obtain artifacts, data, and other materials from sites as directed.
- Communicate needs for curriculum revision to enhance usability and/or effectiveness to the Implementation Support Manager and/or Leadership.
- Communicate patterns of implementation challenge to inform content of internal district meetings and/or Great First Eight cross‑network meetings.
- Support professional learning during the school year and during the summer, including facilitating/co‑facilitating professional learning, grade‑level team meetings, cross‑site collaboration, coach meetings, School Leader meetings, and so on.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure the delivery of consistently high‑quality work, and the healthy functioning of the team, including:
- Prepare for, attend, contribute to, and complete tasks assigned after meetings with the Chicago Public Schools’ Pre‑K Implementation Support Team and the Great First Eight Implementation Support Team.
- Engage in communications outside meetings as needed to meet project needs, track task progress, and collaborate with others to complete the work.
- Passionate commitment to racial and other forms of equity in early childhood education.
- Two years of successful experience as an early childhood educator with experience supporting educators in classrooms with a number of children from historically underrepresented racial and ethnic groups.
- Ability to work effectively with fellow educators.
- Excellent writing skills, including the ability to complete writing in a timely fashion.
- Work demonstrating attention to detail and ability to track, prioritize, and accomplish a number and a range of tasks.
- Means to travel throughout the CPS school district.
- Ability to pass a CPS Level I Background Check.
- Knowledge of and/or experience with the Great First Eight curriculum is strongly preferred.
- Successful experience supporting/facilitating professional learning is preferred.
- Experience coaching educators preferred.
$76,000‑$125,000 annually, dependent on experience.…
