Job Description Summary

Chicago State University (CSU), is the oldest public university in the Chicago metropolitan area. Chicago State University is Illinois’ only four-year U.S. Department of Education-designated Predominantly Black Institution (PBI). CSU serves over 1,500 undergraduate students and nearly 900 graduate students. Seeking an Adjunct faculty member to teach undergraduate or graduate level courses in Public Health. The position requires expertise in at least one area of public health, such as epidemiology, health policy and management, biostatistics, environmental health, and social and behavioral sciences.

• Adhere to all university and academic policies and assigned duties.
• Contribute to the development of course content.
• Assess student learning.
• Participate in program activities and provide student support.
• Attend trainings.
• Maintain accurate records of students’ academic progress.
• Be available via phone, email, Zoom, LMS and during office hours.
• Support the overall mission, vision and values of the public health program.

• Master’s degree in public health or a related field (MPH). PhD preferred.
• CHES or MCHES certification preferred but not required.
• Expertise in at least one area of public health: epidemiology, health policy and management, biostatistics, environmental health, or social and behavioral sciences.
• Strong communication, presentation and teaching skills.

• Salary: $1,000 per credit hour.
