Part Time Art Teacher & Teacher's Aide

The position is for a part‑time (2‑3 days per week) Art Teacher responsible for a weekly art class for all grades Pre‑K‑8, or an option to serve as Teacher’s Aide in various classrooms to assist teachers, with small groups or makeup work outside the classroom.
General Responsibilities- Teach in accordance with Catholic doctrinal and moral teachings.
- Serve as a role model for religious formation of students and represent the Archbishop of Chicago and the Catholic Church.
- Follow the mission, philosophy, objectives and policies of the Catholic school.
- Complete Catholic identity formation training and required professional development.
- Participate in religious instruction, ceremonies and rituals as directed by the principal.
- Communicate regularly with students, parents/guardians, colleagues and principal.
- Participate in professional development programs required by the Archdiocese of Chicago and/or the local school.
- Carry out teaching duties assigned by the principal.
- Attend required faculty and staff meetings.
- Support school‑related meetings, activities and projects.
- Maintain accurate student attendance and academic records.
- Maintain a safe, orderly, and secure learning environment.
- Participate in the annual performance review.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding school personnel, students and general school matters.
- Represent the school/parish positively at events and in the public.
- Perform additional tasks assigned by the principal.
- Practicing Catholic (preferred, required for religion teachers).
- Manage a safe environment (compliance with requirements).
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Valid state licensure for the grade/subject area (preferred, not required).
- Completion of Catholic identity formation training.
- Transcripts.
- Resume.
- Teaching Licensure (PEL), if applicable/obtained.
- Acceptance in alternative licensure program, if applicable.
- Professional references.
This position has a salary range $38,527–$68,776 for a lay employee and $35,686–$62,316 for a religious employee. Salary within the range will depend on education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and organizational needs.
