Adjunct Faculty, Acting for the Musical Stage Instructor

The Chicago College of Performing Arts (CCPA) offers three Conservatories:
Music, Interdisciplinary Studies, and Theatre. Faculty combine professional careers with teaching to prepare students for performing arts industries.
CCPA is seeking an instructor for Acting for the Musical Stage courses and for potential substitute teaching. Courses are co‑taught with a pianist/music director. Classes meet T/Th 3:30–4:45 pm during the Fall semester.
Responsibilities- Teach Acting for the Musical Stage courses, co‑taught with a Music Director.
- Provide substitute instruction within the department as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree (required) in Music, Musical Theatre, or a related professional field.
- 1–2 years of university‑level instruction and/or professional musical theatre experience (required).
- Extensive knowledge of the musical theatre canon across eras and performance practices.
- Demonstrated experience teaching acting and acting in musical theatre.
Salaried at $1,327.33 per credit hour for classes ranging from 2–3 credit hours. The semester‑long, 3‑credit course pays $3,982. Substitute pay is prorated based on hours taught.
