Position DescriptionThe Department of Anthropology seeks an archaeologist or bioarchaeologist, geographic area open, for a one-year term position with the possibility of renewal. The Department of Anthropology at DePaul offers an undergraduate major and two minors, and contributes to three additional minor programs in our college. We are seeking a colleague who is an enthusiastic and committed college educator, as this position is focused exclusively on teaching.
The expected workload is 9 courses or course equivalents, in both face-to-face and online modalities, over three ten-week quarters. These courses will contribute to department programs as well as the university's liberal studies (general education) curriculum.
We seek a candidate who is an excellent classroom teacher, and who also has experience teaching science-based lab courses. The successful candidate will have a PhD in Anthropology and a record of at least three years of effective university-level teaching.

About DePaul University's Academic CalendarExcept for the College of Law, DePaul University operates on a quarter system. Classes in Autumn, Winter, and Spring quarters are 11 weeks in length (including finals week) and Summer courses, in two sessions, are typically 5 weeks in length. The College of Law operates on the semester system. Classes in the Fall and Spring semesters are 16 weeks in length (including finals week) and it offers a Summer Session of 7 weeks (including final exams).

Salary InformationThe salary range for this 10-month position is $56,990 - $60,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
