General ResponsibilitiesThe assistant principal serves the school in a professional manner, upholding Catholic doctrinal and moral teachings. The principal ensures the school embodies the mission of evangelization, fostering spiritual and educational development and deepening faith among all members of the community.
Catholic Identity and Culture- Promote and facilitate an environment that fosters the Catholic identity of the school.
- Ensure that faculty are well established, capable of teaching and witnessing the Catholic faith, and meet all catechetical requirements.
- Foster a positive, welcoming school culture that encourages Christian treatment and communication among stakeholders.
- Encourage active participation of stakeholders in prayer, liturgies, service, and the greater life of the parish.
- Promote parent/guardian partnerships in advancing the mission of the school and the ministry of Catholic education.
- Model professionalism and Catholic values.
- Ensure all students are engaged in appropriate and rigorous academic learning.
- Ensure instruction meets archdiocesan standards.
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, development, and evaluation of all teachers and staff.
- Develop and implement school improvement goals.
- Ensure accuracy of student performance data and use assessment data to promote quality teaching and learning.
- Promote practices that ensure quality learning for students of diverse backgrounds, including socio-economic groups, students with defined learning needs, and English language learners.
- Oversee co-curricular activities (extended school day, sports, activity clubs) ensuring compliance with local and archdiocesan policies.
- Active, practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church.
- Master’s degree (or higher) in school administration or related field, or in the process of receiving this qualification.
- State certification in school administration.
- At least three years (full-time) of experience in education as a teacher or administrator (Catholic school preferred).
The Archdiocese of Chicago offers a comprehensive total rewards package, including competitive compensation and benefit programs. This position has a salary range of $55,000 to $67,000. Pay within the range is based on education, qualifications, experience, skills, geography, and organizational needs.
