Position: Associate Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Success / Compliance

The Associate Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Success/Compliance will organize and develop student-athlete programming, support student-athlete groups, collaborate with other units, and serve as an advisor to the Student Athlete Advisory Committee. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong communication skills, the ability to multi-task, and a commitment to an educational and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities
  • Leads athletic department efforts and programming in holistic student-athlete development, leadership development, career development, campus engagement, and social responsibility.
  • Provide timely and accurate systems for completing mandated forms, reports, assessments, and audits as required by various agencies.
  • Oversee and direct NCAA eligibility certification processes.
  • Represent the department at the University, conference, and national levels as appropriate.
  • Assure the timely investigation, resolution, and self-reporting of rules infractions as they occur.
  • Opportunity for sport program oversight as the Sport Program Administrator or Secondary Sport Program Administrator to support and oversee teams as assigned, based on experience.
  • Serve as an advisor to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SMC).
  • Compile data and information for projects assigned by the Athletic Director.
  • Connect athletes to cross-campus resources that aid in the development of well-rounded student-athletes.
  • Disseminate informational, educational, and promotional materials for welfare and academic enhancement opportunities and resources.
  • Coordinate Aims of Athletics annual programming.
  • Develop student-athlete newsletters/communications.
  • Partner with administrative staff to provide communication updates to teams.
  • Solve problems in areas such as academic and administrative policy, student admissions, curriculum research and development, and budget development.
  • Recommend process improvements for programs related to student-life improvements, including emergency management, accommodations for students with disabilities, and the administration of health care services and programs for students.
  • Collaborate with academic divisions to educate students on safety issues. Interpret student disciplinary issues and prepare an annual university summary of disciplinary actions. Counsel students, parents, and staff in response to concerns, handling complex situations including student crises.
  • Perform other related work as needed.
Minimum Qualifications

Education: Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in a related field.

Work Experience: Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

Education:

  • Master s degree in a related field.

Experience:

  • Working in athletics in a scholastic setting.
  • Working in college athletics.

Technical Skills or Knowledge:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Preferred Competencies:

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Understanding of the collegiate athletic environment within a rigorous academic setting.
  • Commitment to enriching the lives of student-athletes and enhancing their experience.
