Position Summary
The Department of Physiology and Biophysics at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) College of Medicine seeks outstanding candidates for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. The Department offers a dynamic environment with strong leadership, newly launched educational programs, and collaborative junior and established faculty. UIC offers an exciting intellectual environment that is growing in several areas of research, including tumor immunology, with strong doctoral and MSTP training programs, outstanding core facilities, and superb opportunities for collaboration within the Chicago community.

We seek faculty candidates whose prior training and research has demonstrated excellence and impact on the intersection of obesity and tumor immunology. While candidates in this area will be especially considered, we seek and encourage candidates with a record of innovative and collaborative research in cancer metabolism, tumor microenvironment, endocrinology, or immunology.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. and/or M.D., current or confirmed extramural funding, and a strong record of research excellence. The successful candidates will be expected to maintain an extramurally-funded research program and to participate in teaching at the graduate and professional health sciences levels. Competitive salary and start-up packages are available.

Responsibilities- Maintain an extramurally-funded research program related to obesity, tumor immunology, and related areas.
- Teach graduate and professional health sciences courses at UIC.
- Collaborate with junior and senior faculty on research projects.
