JOB TITLE: Dance Instructor Part Time

LOCATION/DEPT: RJKCCC Kroc Arts & Education Department

REPORTS TO: Music & Gospel Fine Arts Manager

FLSA CATEGORY: Non‑Exempt

PAY GRADE: 203

PAY RANGE: $18.74‑22.49

The dance instructor will be responsible for teaching dance classes, developing curriculum and assessments, and establishing collaborative partnerships within the community.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for teaching dance classes.
  • Design and implement curriculum, assessment rubrics, and lesson plans for each course taught. Provide regular activity records to the Kroc Fine Arts Director.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships for dance programming with schools and organizations.
  • Participate actively in the recruitment and outreach efforts set forth by the Arts and Education Director.
  • Attend assigned staff meetings.
  • Willing to teach additional classes and workshops as needed.
  • Follow and ensure adherence to The Salvation Army Policies and Procedures.
  • Perform other assignments or duties as directed.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE,

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Education:

Experience:

  • Three years required, five years preferred of teaching experience.
  • Provide a record of dance performance experience.
  • Evidence of experience in curriculum development.

Skills /Abilities:

  • Ability to work with children, parents and staff in a leadership capacity.
  • Demonstrated initiative and self‑starter attitude.
  • Performance experience in the teaching content area.
  • Experience in dance curriculum development.
  • Start class on time with room set‑up and reset room as required.
  • Philosophy of education and child development consistent with The Salvation Army.
  • Must be Safe from Harm certified within 30 days of hire.
  • Commit only approved Army resources.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Satisfactory speaking, hearing and vision ability; excellent manual dexterity.
  • Requires bending, squatting, dancing and walking.
  • Standing for extended periods of time.
