Parker PM Extended Day Staff (Part-Time; Begins Late August 2026)
Francis W. Parker School is a renowned JK-12th grade independent day school. Founded in 1901 on the tenets of progressive education, the School currently enrolls 940 students and employs 200 dedicated faculty and staff members who, in addition to assistant teachers, substitute teachers and coaches, work together to ensure that the School lives up to its Mission to “educate students to think and act with empathy, courage and clarity as responsible citizens and leaders in a diverse, democratic society and global community.”
The Department of Auxiliary Programs is seeking talented and motivated individuals to join our Parker PM Extended Day Staff
. This role works with the school’s Extended Day programs to ensure that the children are safe, happy and engaged by providing activities and supervision to groups and individuals and by stewarding the transition from the school day classroom to a positive after school environment.
This position works late-August through early-June. Work hours range from 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, following the school calendar. This role reports to the Director of Parker PM.
Essential Functions- Set up and clean up various spaces on a daily basis
- Plan, prepare, and implement daily activities for children
- Communicate daily with parents, faculty and a variety of school staff
- Monitor daily after school attendance
- Supervise recreational time indoors and outside
- Resolve conflicts as needed
- Support a variety of student arrival and dismissal procedures
- Attend regular Extended Day Staff meetings
- Attend certain professional development activities as needed
- Supervise students during certain full-day programs (“Days-Off”) when classes are not in session
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree required (or currently pursuing Bachelor’s with at least two (2) years completed toward degree)
- Experience working with young children strongly preferred
- Interest in the learning and developmental experiences of very young children
- Ability to interact well with preschool and elementary age students, as well as faculty, staff, administration, and parents
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills
$19.00 per hour; this position is not eligible for benefits.
