Learning & Development Specialist, Training Instructor / Specialist
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Learning Experience Designer to design and deliver performance-based learning solutions that enhance employee capability, drive business outcomes, and support enterprise learning initiatives. This role partners with HR, subject matter experts (SMEs), and cross-functional teams to create engaging, scalable learning experiences for a global workforce.
Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)
Duration: Long term contract
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop end-to-end learning experiences, including eLearning, instructor-led, blended, and performance support solutions.
Conduct learning needs analyses and translate business requirements into measurable learning outcomes.
Develop high-quality learning assets, including storyboards, eLearning modules, facilitator guides, videos, toolkits, and job aids.
Collaborate with SMEs and stakeholders to create learner-centered, business-focused training solutions.
Build and publish digital learning using Articulate Storyline (preferred) and Articulate Rise.
Manage multiple learning projects while ensuring timely delivery and stakeholder alignment.
Support LMS publishing, testing, quality assurance, and deployment.
Ensure learning content meets accessibility standards and inclusive design best practices.
Assist with content migration and modernization initiatives.
Evaluate learning effectiveness and recommend continuous improvements.
5+ years of experience in Learning Experience Design, Instructional Design, or Enterprise Learning.
Strong expertise in adult learning principles and performance-based instructional design.
Advanced experience with Articulate Storyline and Articulate Rise.
Experience designing digital, instructor-led, and blended learning programs.
Working knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and content deployment.
Experience conducting learning needs analyses and translating business goals into effective learning solutions.
Strong stakeholder management, communication, and project management skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive learning design.
Experience with compliance training, operational capability programs, or brand training.
Familiarity with learning analytics and evaluation frameworks.
Basic understanding of xAPI, variables, or programming logic.
Experience using Agile development or human-centered design methodologies.
Strong Project Management skills with experience coordinating with internal Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
Strong Instructional Design capabilities.
Experience incorporating learning evaluation methods, analyzing feedback, and improving training effectiveness.

Hybrid Schedule: 3 days onsite in Chicago, IL.
Strong preference for local candidates. Exceptional remote candidates may be considered.

- Pay Rate: $50 - $65 per Hour
