Bilingual
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Bilingual Ed, ESL, or related field required (Master's degree preferred)
- Valid Illinois PEL with Bilingual and/or ESL endorsement required (Administrative endorsement preferred)
Understanding of Bilingual Education policy, and experience in teaching bilingual education,, instructional leadership, or school administration (prior leadership preferred)
Data-Driven & CollaborativeProven ability to utilize data for instructional improvement and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders to build organizational capacity
Commitment to EquityPersonal and professional commitment to educational equity for English Learners
TransportationAccess to reliable transportation for district-wide travel
Key Responsibilities Direct School SupportPartner with networks, school leaders and EL Program Teachers (ELPTs) to provide data-informed guidance, programmatic support, and resources for English learners across CPS.
Program Implementation & AccountabilityGuide schools in understanding bilingual programs aligned with district policies and conduct EL Program reviews to ensure accountability with state and federal law.
Professional LearningDevelop, lead, and facilitate professional learning opportunities for ELPTs and school leaders.
CollaborationFoster cross-functional collaboration within OMME and throughout CPS to ensure program alignment and deliver cohesive support.
