Position Overview Resurrection College Prep High School, an all-girls Catholic, Lasallian high school on Chicago’s Northwest Side, is seeking a mission-driven Interventionist / School Counselor Coordinator to join our Student Services team. This hybrid role is designed as one-half academic interventionist and one-half school counselor/coordinator, focusing on student wellness, academic support, and coordinated intervention planning for diverse learners.

The Interventionist / School Counselor Coordinator will play a key role in ensuring that students are known, supported, and challenged, using data-informed practices and collaborative problem-solving to help each student grow academically, socially, and spiritually.

Reporting Relationship Reports to the AP of Student Services and collaborates closely with various team members.

Key Responsibilities

Provide individual counseling and academic advice to support student progress, personal growth, and postsecondary readiness.

Teach 1-2 learning strategies courses to provide executive functioning support to students

Coordinate and implement targeted academic intervention services for students experiencing academic difficulty or barriers to learning.

Use student data (grades, standardized assessments, attendance, teacher feedback) to identify students in need of intervention, monitor progress, and refine support plans.

Partner with teachers, families, and Student Services colleagues to design and implement intervention plans that address academic, social/emotional, and executive-function needs.

Support course selection, transition programming (including transfers), summer school advisement, and other student support processes.

Assist with crisis response, referrals, and follow-up for students requiring mental health or social-emotional support.

Contribute to school-wide programming that promotes mental health awareness, academic success, and a positive, faith-filled school culture.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in school counseling, Educational Psychology, Social Work, Curriculum and Instruction, Special Education, or a closely related field.

Current ISBE Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Counselor/School Social Worker endorsement

Three to five years of experience in an accredited secondary school in school counseling, academic intervention, student support services, or related areas;
Catholic school experience is strongly preferred.

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with students, families, faculty, and administrators in a diverse school community.
