Federal Work Study Program 2026–2027 Academic Year
Kennedy-King College, part of the City Colleges of Chicago, offers part-time employment to eligible students through the Federal Work Study Program. This program provides students with the opportunity to earn while they learn, gaining real-world experience in roles related to their academic or career interests. Students work in on-campus departments or at approved off-campus community service sites, receiving hourly wages that help reduce out-of-pocket educational costs.

Federal Work Study students are coordinated through the Office of Student Financial Aid at Kennedy-King College. Day-to-day supervision is provided by the department where the student is placed.
Kennedy-King College is seeking motivated, dependable, and service-oriented students to join the KKC team as Federal Work Study Students. Students will support their assigned department through a variety of office and program support tasks, including:
- Greeting and assisting students, faculty, staff, or guests
- Answering phones and routing calls
- Assisting with filing, organizing, data entry, or special projects
- Helping promote department events and services
- Providing excellent customer service to all members of the college community
Job Type: Part-Time
Hours:
Up to 29 hours per week (based on eligibility and department needs)
Location:
On-campus and select off-campus community partner sites
Eligibility Requirements:
Applicants must:
- Be at least 16 years old and eligible to work in the U.S. (work permit required if under 18)
- Have a completed FAFSA for the 2025–2026 academic year
- Be enrolled at City Colleges of Chicago – Kennedy-King College in at least 6 credit hours
- Be pursuing an eligible degree or certificate program
- Be meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
- Be in good academic standing with CCC (no active academic restrictions)
- Not be currently employed as a Student Worker, full- or part-time employee at CCC
Salary Range: $17.00 (on-campus) or $19.00 (off-campus) per hour. Offered rate will be determined based on whether assigned location is on campus or off campus.
