Assistant Director, Student Life, Working Professionals Program

The Assistant Director, Student Life, Working Professionals Program is primarily responsible for managing the program support and operations of the Working Professionals Programs Student Life teams. The Assistant Director will provide direct student support to the Evening/Weekend and Executive MBA populations and assist with programs and event operations. The Assistant Director works in close collaboration with student-facing staff and builds facilities to manage daily students and staff needs.

This role also interfaces with Booth partners and helps to create operational excellence during class weeks at Gleacher Center. This position is not eligible for employer-sponsored employment authorization.

Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with different student-facing teams to strategize and identify program opportunities to enhance student experience and increase overall student engagement.
  • Partnering with the Working Professionals Student Life team members by supporting student requests and problem-solving student needs.
  • Collaborating with London and Hong Kong program teams and facilitating necessary committees.
  • Planning and managing faculty and student engagement such as Faculty Social Hours.
  • Creating and managing student quarterly communications, including weekly digest, invitations and updates through the school's digital platforms.
  • Providing financial oversight of the operating budget for multiple student group accounts and operation budgets, and monitoring and reconciling the Student Life accounts.
  • Supporting the EMBA class weekend experience such as catering, coordination with other relevant Booth departments, and other event logistics.
  • In partnership with the Faculty and Academic Services team, managing the purchase and distribution of student textbooks for EMBA students.
  • Managing Booth Groups, the event registration system for student clubs and Student Life.
  • Assisting the Student Life team with event logistics, event materials, follow-up, metrics, and process improvements.
  • Working closely with Booth Accounting on all contract submissions, negotiations, and payments.
  • Managing Teaching Assistant payments and evaluations with Booth HR.
  • Serving as an approver of the student listservs.
  • Managing systems such as Booth Groups and Oracle.
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of Student Life Canvas Program sites.
  • Managing office administrative functions, supplies, and facilities coordination.
  • Assisting with staffing Student Life events when necessary, including evenings and weekends.
  • Undertaking projects and providing administrative support as assigned, related to the business of the organizational unit.
  • Coordinating with the students and staff to develop activities, programs, and initiatives related to student life, and/or community involvement. Developing and implementing straightforward programming.
  • Advising, supporting, and recommending concepts for programming to leaders of various organizations and programs.
  • Performing other related work as needed.

Minimum qualifications include a college or university degree in a related field and 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline. Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree, background in a higher education setting, and demonstrated proficiency with MS Office.

Working conditions include a minimum three days per week in the office, work Monday-Friday 9:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., plus occasional extended hours, and work at Gleacher for EMBA class weekends. Additional various other weekends and nights as needed. Schedule is communicated in advance.
