Duties and Responsibilities
- Job Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Teaching and Learning in the Faculty Development Center, the Program and Operations Specialist for Ignatian Pedagogical Practices ("Specialist") develops, coordinates, and delivers essential pedagogical skills training to faculty to enhance our faculty effectiveness in teaching and resultant student learning. Responsibilities include developing, coordinating, and delivering developmentally sequenced offerings that support faculty use of the Ignatian Pedagogical Paradigm in various modalities.
The Specialist collaborates with colleagues within the Center and partners with faculty and LUC campus partners as needed to meet current faculty needs.

Champion the use of the Ignatian Pedagogical Paradigm in teaching and learning at the institution. Foster a mission-centered culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Innovation:
Stay current with evidence-based trends to support faculty professional development in the area of teaching and learning, evaluating their potential merit. Relationship Management:
Maintain relationships with faculty and campus partners to provide services. Conduct one-on-one consultations with faculty to improve use of the Ignatian Pedagogical Paradigm.
Position Specific Responsibilities:
Provide high-quality professional development for faculty related to the Ignatian Pedagogical Paradigm. Support a "one-stop-shop" for faculty professional development related to the use of the Ignatian Pedagogical Paradigm. Conducts one-on-one consultations with faculty to support the use of the Ignatian Pedagogical Paradigm. Develop, coordinate, deliver a multi-modal, developmentally sequenced array of evidence-based education and training programs to enhance our faculty use of the Ignatian Pedagogical Paradigm.
Deliver faculty professional development opportunities as needed. Oversee daily activities, including providing programs and individualized support to faculty seeking assistance. Ensure the continuous improvement of support services to align with the Ignatian Pedagogical Paradigm, aligning decisions with faculty needs identified in the needs assessment survey. Assess outcomes of efforts and adjust accordingly. Maintain current knowledge of evidence-based instructional practices. Perform other duties, as requested.
Minimum Education and/or Work Experience
- Master's degree required. Three to five years of related work experience required.
Qualifications - A Masters degree with an emphasis in higher education, instructional design, human relations, or related field is required. At least 2 years experience with teaching at the university level. At least 3 years progressive experience with faculty professional development. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to implement strategic plans that align with organizational goals. A history of building and maintaining internal partnerships with faculty and staff.
