Role Description This full-time Teacher role is an on-site position located in Bronzeville, IL. The Teacher will plan and deliver daily classroom instruction aligned with the academy’s classical curriculum and learning objectives. Responsibilities include preparing lesson plans, teaching core subjects, assessing student progress, and providing individualized support as needed. The Teacher will maintain an orderly, inclusive classroom environment, communicate regularly with families, and collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and school initiatives.

The role also involves participating in staff meetings, professional development, and school events to support a positive and cohesive school culture.

Qualifications

  • Ability to design and deliver clear, engaging lesson plans that support diverse learning styles.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with students, families, and colleagues in a professional manner.
  • Organizational and time-management skills to balance instruction, grading, reporting, and school duties.
  • Commitment to student-centered learning, continuous improvement, and collaboration with the school team.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; teaching certification or licensure in Illinois preferred.
  • Experience teaching in K–12 settings or in a classical curriculum environment is beneficial.
  • Ability to use basic educational technology and learning platforms to support instruction and record-keeping.
