Chicago Program Lead - True Lacrosse Foundation Location

Position Summary

The Chicago Program Lead is a part-time, after-school role running Monday-Thursday from September through December, with a commitment of 9-12 hours per week and scheduling flexibility. This position offers competitive pay starting at $22/hour. Program Leads play a vital role in delivering high-quality academic, mentorship, and lacrosse programming to students in under-resourced communities on Chicago’s West Side.

Position Overview

Program Leads are assigned to a partner school in the Austin neighborhood and work with students across multiple grade levels, including 3rd-4th grade, 5th-6th grade, and high school boys' and girls' programs.

Each afternoon begins with academic tutoring and mentorship, followed by team-building activities and introductory lacrosse instruction. This structure allows students to grow both academically and athletically while developing leadership, confidence, and teamwork skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-on-one and small-group tutoring tailored to assigned students' academic needs
  • Serve as a positive mentor and role model, supporting students' confidence, accountability, and leadership development
  • Lead team-building activities and structured lacrosse practices focused on skill development and teamwork
  • Collaborate with school partners, fellow staff, and Foundation leadership to deliver high-quality, consistent programming
Qualifications
  • Prior experience in tutoring, teaching, or academic support
  • Coaching experience preferred (lacrosse strongly preferred; other sports considered)
  • Lacrosse playing or coaching background strongly preferred
  • Strong communication, leadership, and collaboration skills
  • Reliable, energetic, and passionate about youth development
