WXAV Music Director
The WXAV Music Director works with record companies to keep the station well supplied with the latest releases; listens to all new music to check and edit lyrics for compliance with FCC and WXAV rules and regulations for broadcast. This student employment opportunity supports the development of skills aligned with the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) Career Readiness Competencies.
Through this role, students will strengthen the following competencies:

Students build professionalism by practicing dependability, accountability, confidentiality when applicable, workplace etiquette, and respectful service in a workplace setting. - Teamwork:
Students build teamwork skills by collaborating with supervisors, staff, and peers to support department goals, assist others, and contribute to a positive work environment. - Technology:
Students build technology skills by using department systems, software, digital tools, equipment, or university platforms to complete tasks accurately and efficiently.
Publishes a weekly NACC chart for industry publication and record companies to see what new music WXAV is playing. The Music Director co-ordinates and oversees the WXAV music committee to decide what new music the station will be playing and maintains the music library- both digital (computer) and physical (CDs). The Music Director arranges interviews and station giveaways for the WXAV staff to participate in.
Along with the other members of management, the music director evaluates various student broadcasts, to ensure that FCC rules and regulations are met, and to offer feedback on the DJ's program. The Music Director also assists in planning, and promoting of promotional events.
MUST BE A STUDENT AT SAINT XAVIER UNIVERSITY
Must be Federal Work Study Eligible
Must Include a Resume and Cover Letter Background in Communication preferred.
