Justice Tuesday Coordinator
The part-time Justice Tuesday Coordinator upholds the mission of Sacred Heart Schools, Sheridan Road as expressed in the Goals and Criteria and the mission statement. The JTC is accountable to the Formation to Mission & Campus Ministry Director and directly supports the Coordinator of Service Learning and Community Partnerships (CSL) in the coordination of the academic service-learning program with attention on the Middle School program.
The primary focus of the JTC is the implementation of Justice Tuesday middle school service including the 6th Grade Retreat. The JTC will provide additional support with other special projects for the service-learning program. In addition to the CSL, the JTC collaborates with the Director, Formation to Mission & Campus Ministry, the Head of Student Life, Division Heads, and faculty to support all service-learning programming and learning outcomes of the service learning experiences by integrating the projects into the current class curriculum.
Essential duties include:
- Create a plan for each Justice Tuesday, in coordination with the CSL, with Community Partners.
- Coordinate schedules, logistics, and site arrangements.
- Coordinate chaperones with MS Head.
- Coordinate parent drivers POTH volunteers.
- Consult with Nurse to ensure student safety.
- Coordinate student assembly before service including prayer, directions, and dismissal for rides to sites.
- Serve as a chaperone at one of the service sites and supervise students.
- Monitor project implementation to ensure goals and expectations are met.
- Address student concerns and resolve issues that arise during service activities.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Associate's degree/equivalent experience in education, social services, nonprofit management, or related field.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and online recordkeeping systems.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in education, social work, nonprofit management, public administration, or related field.
- Experience coordinating volunteer programs or service-learning initiatives.
- Experience supervising students in educational or community settings.
- CPR/First Aid certification.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to motivate and mentor students.
- Ability to build partnerships with diverse community organizations.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional standards.
Work Schedule:
- Part-time, approximately 15-20 hours/week. Tuesday mornings will be required from October through May.
- Some evening and occasional weekend hours may be requested for community events or service projects.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to travel to service locations within the community.
- Ability to stand, walk, and supervise activities for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry materials up to 25 pounds as needed.
Pay Rate: $25.00/Hour
This is a part-time position and is not eligible for employer-sponsored benefits.
