DePaul University invites expressions of interest for a pool of qualified Part Time Faculty to teach courses in a variety of disciplines across all 10 colleges and schools. Individuals may enter expressions of interest by submitting their credentials to any posting for which they are qualified to teach. Postings are organized by college/school and department. Screening of individuals in the pool is ongoing, depending on curricular need and funding.
Individuals will be contacted by the department if they reach the finalist stage for teaching a particular course or set of courses. The pool will remain in place until the closing date specified in the posting details; those interested in remaining in the pool beyond that time must resubmit. All individuals in the pool will be notified by email when the posting is closed.
The Department of Modern Languages at DePaul University in Chicago is accepting applications for a full-time Professor of Instruction in French for the 2026-27 academic year. Responsibilities will include teaching 9 courses (3-3-3), both in French at various levels (including advanced topics courses) and in English for DePaul's Liberal Studies Program. Additional duties may include course development, student advising, and collaboration with student organizations and community partners.
This role may also include periodic directorship of the French Language Program as needed. The scholarly background for this position is open. We seek a versatile teacher-scholar who demonstrates innovative pedagogy in multiple areas such as Francophone cultural studies, French for Specific Purposes, linguistics, translation, or literature. Review of applicants will begin August 1st and continue until the position is filled.

Qualifications:
- Native or near-native proficiency in French and English;
- A minimum of a Master's degree in French or a closely related field (PhD or ABD preferred);
- A minimum of one year of teaching experience at the college or post-secondary level.

The salary range for this 10-month position is $55,850 - $62,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
