Do you enjoy working with young children and like the variety of supporting different classrooms and age groups?
The Goddard School of South Loop is looking for a dependable, nurturing and energetic Part-Time Floating Preschool Teacher to support our classrooms throughout the school day.
As a Floating Teacher, you will work alongside our Lead Teachers and leadership team to help maintain safe, engaging and well-supported classrooms.
What You'll Do- Support Preschool and other early childhood classrooms as needed
- Actively engage with children through play, conversations, learning activities and routines
- Provide attentive active supervision at all times
- Help teachers with classroom transitions, meals, outdoor play, rest time and learning activities
- Follow classroom routines and positive guidance practices
- Assist with maintaining clean, organized and inviting classrooms
- Build positive relationships with children, families and coworkers
- Step confidently into different classrooms and adapt to the needs of each group
- Follow all school, licensing, health and safety procedures
- Support Management as needed with school wide events, facility maintenance, office and storage management
- Warm, patient and genuinely enjoys working with children and can engage with children in absence of homeroom teacher
- Reliable and punctual
- Flexible and comfortable working in different classrooms
- Engaged and willing to jump in wherever support is needed
- Professional and respectful in communication
- A strong team player
- Receptive to feedback and interested in learning
- Able to meet Illinois DCFS requirements for an early childhood classroom
Previous childcare or preschool experience is preferred. Early Childhood Education coursework is a plus.
